Another great symbolic move by Obama. (His only kind, right?) And some don’t like it! GOOD!

Asante Sana, Anwar Amal (Marion Barry)
So what’s the formula? (It’s why whites around the country never “got” him, but some journalists who covered him understood.)
It’s easy!
Feed the poor, house the elderly and give its youth summer jobs;
Make sure the Black middle class gets some corporate contracts, and
Make sure the white middle class gets the buildings they want.
Simple. Powerful. Thank you!
(I guess The Washington City Paper is happy to finally obit him, since it had been doing that for YEARS.)
Another Angola 3 Member, Albert Woodfox, To Be Freed?
Let’s hope so! I’m sure Herman Wallace would have been “happy” about this!
NOVEMBER 24th UPDATE: Glad to see “Democracy Now!” did a segment!
A “Living Document” Of The 6th Pan-African Congress/Black Rock Discusison
This was easily one of the best programs Jared and Mark have done for WPFW.
Also: I found this conversation interesting, because it was so radically different in relation to my upbringing.
“New View With Ed Gordon” Pilot on WHUT-TV
Okay…..Let’s hope this succeeds.
30th Anniversary of “Band Aid” For Ebola
Does this mean an updated “We Are The World” response? Huhdoesithuhdoesithuhdoesit???? LOL! 🙂 Does the 25th anniversary Haiti one (below) count against that happening?
Enjoyed Watching………….
…….this documentary.
Between this and “The Legend of Cool Disco Dan,” which aired a little over a week ago on WHUT-TV, I got a crash-course in D.C. history.
Newark’s Historian
I was a finalist for one of his fellowships once. He was a very prestigious guy who proudly lived in Newark.
I didn’t know he did a film on the city.
The Legend Of Cool “Disco” Dan
Saw this on WHUT-TV last night! Growing up in the shadow of New York City, it was interesting to see the similarities in the contemporary histories of Black communities in NYC and DC.
The Letter From The FBI To Martin Luther King
Always wanted to read this letter in full. Glad it’s out.
Here’s a link to the text of another letter I found online recently. It’s to Dr. King.
