71-Word Review of “Avengers: Endgame”

This epic is many things, among them a meditation of how powerful love, honor, duty and friendship can be, if among the right group of people. An extraordinary end–and make no mistake, it is an ending! Deserves its place among the greatest superhero films ever made, even if detractors will correctly point out that it’s the sequel to 21 films, one that mined all its predecessors to create a perfect-hits collection.

And Now, The Geek News:

Okay, THIS would be the geek news of the month

Batman

(with a special note of this grievous wrong “writed” 🙂 )

Finger2

Finger

but, of course, it was superceded by this journalistic-superhero stream crossing!

BP Coates

Coates is one of the greatest nonfiction writers of my generation, but he is a little too, uh, um, mainstream and American for me, so I’m interested to see if fantasy will allow him to really open up, as it were. Marvel’s Black Panther will be the perfect vehicle for that.

50-Word Review of “Ant-Man”

A ghetto “Oceans 11” meets superhero movie! The stars may be white, but the funny supporting cast is Black and Latino.

The “urban audience” word-of-mouth will make this a strong hit for Marvel! This ALMOST makes up for Marvel giving Ava DuVernay the boot!

P.S. So onward to “Captain America: Civil War!”

So, With “Avengers: Age of Ultron” Checked Off, My Year Of Waiting Begins Anew For……..

captain-america-x-iron-man-civil-war

….”Captain America: Civil War,” which began filming earlier today!

Starring…well, almost everybody from “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron!” LOL! 🙂

And Watson from BBC/PBS “Sherlock?!?” WOW AND WTF?!?

And (SHUDDERS) Spider-Man?!? I repeat…..

Here’s the synopsis:

Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

WOW!!!! MAY 6th!!!!!!! Just 364 days left!!!!!!! 😉

Take that, “Dawn of Justice!” LOL! As they used to say in the comics, “Make Mine Marvel!” (Although, make no mistake: I will be there for the “Man of Steel” sequel as well 🙂 )

ADDENDUM: And then there’s THIS in 2018 and 2019! AAUUGGHHH!!!!!!!! 🙂

JUNE 3rd UPDATE: Enjoyed reading this, since it crossed over between Marvel and “Doctor Who.”

“Avengers: Age of Ultron” Publicity No One Wants

Cap and Hawkeye

Unacceptable!

And this was wild!

I’d rather read stories like this one.

MAY 7TH UPDATE: Ulp! Ummm……Okay, I did raise my eyebrow with that line, but I thought it was just Tony Stark being naughty. Let’s just say I really, really, really won’t care if it gets edited from the DVD/Blue Ray/PPV, etc.
