Thank You, Dr. Wayne Dyer
I learned a lot of basic spiritual lessons from this man, who dominated PBS fundraising for at least a decade!
I’ll miss those long Sunday morning sessions! In my time in Maryland, it was the closest I ever got to going to church!
See you on YouTube, Dr. Dyer!
So What Should We Do With Cornel West?
Nothing. But read him, argue with him, think about what he is saying. Accept him. Dismiss him. Say he’s lost it. Think him a hater. Miss him when he becomes an Ancestor, because he stands up and talks loud when others are silent (like when Mumia Abu-Jamal was dying), and gets cuffed with others just talk.
My Root Article On Jimmy Carter and Guinea Worm…..
…….is here.
Thank You, Yvonne Craig
I remember as a little kid in the 1970s, watching “Batman” EVERY WEEKDAY, I really, really liked her, but didn’t yet understand why! LOL! (Her abilities obviously included the skill to breathe and move in that costume. 🙂 ) After I saw Batgirl, I then decided that any episode with her in it was one of the good ones.
CNN reminds me that she was the first female superhero on television. I never thought of that, then or now!
It also took me years later to realize that Batgirl coincided with Eartha Kitt’s Catwoman! (Double score! LOL! 🙂 ) And Catwoman hated Batgirl!
Asante Sana, Julian Bond! My Root Article On Him……
is here.
The End of the FF? Not-So-Fantastic Fourth Try
As you get older, acceptance becomes easier. So, after accepting the tragedy of “Fantastic Four,” this No. 1 FF fan (owned hundreds of comics, cartoons, toys, etc.) has accepted that there will never be a good Fantastic Four movie in his lifetime.
The above is the never-released 1994 first FF film. (Of course, I owned a copy in the VHS days.) The theme music is good, at least!
22-Word Review of “Pixels”
Note to filmmakers: If you’re going to rip-off one of my all-time favorite films, copy the smart humor of it as well!
50-Word Review of “Ant-Man”
A ghetto “Oceans 11” meets superhero movie! The stars may be white, but the funny supporting cast is Black and Latino.
The “urban audience” word-of-mouth will make this a strong hit for Marvel! This ALMOST makes up for Marvel giving Ava DuVernay the boot!
P.S. So onward to “Captain America: Civil War!”
No “Rocky 7” Jokes Or Groans Please, Because This “Creed” Trailer Looks Really Good!
Okay, I’m won over! The day before seeing this, I saw (and really liked!) “Rocky Balboa,” so I was set to like “Creed!”
SEPTEMBER 19th UPDATE: Here’s the new trailer, which has me even more excited!
