Public Enemy's Latest:"Notice–Know This"

Public Enemy posted the following on Youtube:

This is a polite respect call to the troops , to continue to inspire but reflect the people better. OTIS Redding was a humble country man from Macon Georgia who bought a jet to work in, not flash. He perished in that plane. Heres to hoping that the J & K supergroup can elevate the masses and try a little bit more to reflect OTIS heart rather than swag, because they’re too good to be less.

A 21st Century Spider-Man (For SOME Of The COMICS ONLY)

I remember a few years back, when Spider-Man was Indian. Then there was that Japanese version from the 1970s.

Stan Lee has often said that kids like Spider-Man because they could imagine themselves behind the mask.  Of course, Marvel loses nothing by doing this; Spidey here is the Ultimate Universe version. The “real” Spider-Man—the one that Marvel will still sell everywhere on television and in film, the first one kids will think of—is still young, white, and skinny Peter Parker.

And Now, Cap (and "The Avengers"!!!!)

To be honest, I had to surpress a giggle when I walked up to the box office and said, “One for Captain America.” The giggle told me that I had been waiting to say that since I was at least eight.

The new film is borderline GREAT. (I think the chemistry between the male and female leads needed a little tweaking, but I’ll be happy to see it again and again until I ignore that and move it up past the border.) It is EASILY the best superhero movie of the summer. I LOVED seeing “The Howling Commandos” in this film! And the ending…..! And the post-credits scene/trailer! 🙂

*SPOILERS*

*END OF SPOILERS*

This film almost put tears in my eyes because it was so much better than those awful 1970s television movies and that 1990 straight-to-DVD film.

I never thought of Captain America as a patriotic, white-supremacist figure; I liked him because he was colorful, kicked ass and had that great shield.

It’s a wonderful thing to have a goal. Mine: to see a GREAT “Avengers” movie on May 4, 2012!
