When I started writing this blog, there was no #MCU, the newly revived #DoctorWho was a sick (2026 slang) show, #BlackPanther #TChalla was just a #Marvel comicbook character few people had heard of outside of the #comicbookstore, you could still pay some bills freelancing for a print magazine and #YouTube was brand-new and commercial-free (!)
and
this thing called #blogging (now known as #macroblogging) was considered the new rocket taking off, yet another promise of media democratization, marketed as the proletariat-ish vehicle for a new J-generation that would challenge the increasingly de-massifying media elite. Yeah, we know how that turned out. ๐
And social media (which used to be called #microblogging and, before that, Web 2.0) was just catching on! (I know YouTube is considered social media, but back then I was thinking about #MySpace.) Did you know that Web 3.0 is the engine for #AI?
Because #BabyBoomers were still actively running the Earth, I was still in denial back then that I had aged out of being young. I was still optimistic that the Boomers would all retire and my #GenX/ #hiphopgeneration would not only be running stuff, but on our own terms. I had yet to author a book and I was extremely angry about that. I was using a PC that wasn’t mine.
I was broke then and I’m broke now :), currently using a laptop that is not mine.
#ToddStevenBurroughs will return for #AvengersDoomsday ๐
