I was once heard Anthony Browder express that Black folks need to go back and revive “African-Centered/Afrocentric” book movement that took place during the late 80s/early 90s. Any thoughts on this?
As an author, book reader and book lover, it’d be nice. But folks have not thought about that the ’90s were three decades ago. The digital genie is out of the bottle and YouTube University has taken over. Before you say that’s a negative, think about how YouTube has given a platform for worldwide, continuous political education and radical (live!) news that is more powerful than the dream of any Black Panther member. “It’s not knowledge we lack.”–Raoul Peck

There’s pros/cons to what this “digital genie” can do and accomplish on this digital landscape. I truly understood Baba Tony Browder’s comments and the context in which he spoke from.
