…and it’s standard Gates stuff. Politely dismissing all radical Black perspectives, especially worldwide-influenced Black nationalism and socialism, etc.
This one I’ve liked the most (I was happy to finally see Black media history integrated into the Black American history narrative), but how he dismisses Robeson says it all. He tries to make up for it on the website, I see.
When “Like It Is” is finally archived, we’ll have a very good counterpoint to this six-part essay.
