1. Really? Doesn’t matter? I disagree. Black people may not “own” King but he is of Black America, a Black American hero (before being a hero to anyone else) and it does matter how he is depicted and by whom his monument is made. It does matter how he is to be portrayed historically or for posterity. But more importantly than the look of the statue is the complete inattention to his genuine politics all of which are lost in discussions of dreams and statues.
