NOOOOO!!!!!! *SNIFF*

First Ebony on the rocks, and now this? It’s like all my dreams are dying a slow death….. Poor Chicago magazines….. *sniff* 😦
Happy 40th, Sesame Street! (II)
One of my students told me about Roosevelt Franklin today. Since I was part of the first generation of “Sesame Street” watchers (I’m 41), the name sounded familiar…….Wow….allathis is so 1969-early 1970s. 🙂
Okay, I Admit It…….

I’m looking forward to either reading this or reading about this.

And then there’s this. 🙂
NOV. 13th UPDATE: See what I’m talking about? Man, she’s great copy….. 🙂
Happy 40th, Sesame Street!
C is for Cookie, and for 41 years, that’s been good enough for me! LOL! 🙂
Be Well, Dominic

Man. Sorry to hear about allathis. I will always remember Dominic Carter as a great WLIB radio reporter, bringing me the first news on the New York City racial incidents of the 1980s.
Happy 75th, Amiri Baraka!
A Beginning!

“Soul!” and other pioneering Black public affairs shows—including WABC-TV’s “Like It Is”—online.
A great start! Now if ALL of all of it can go up, like this show…….

A Note On (Online) Book Reviewing

The bruhaha about online book reviewing, etc. made me think about stating my policy here. And so:
I take the MSM line all the way. Which is:
I’m a journalist who likes to review books. I’ve done so for a national newspaper wire service, national magazines and online (including this blog. ) Because of that, I’m on publishers’ journalistic reviewer lists. That means I get free books from them. Sometimes I review them, sometimes I don’t. If I get a postcard announcing a book and want to review it, I contact the publisher and do a review.
I say what I want to say, and then I file the book away or give it to someone. And that’s all *I* wrote. 🙂
